Micron selected to install state of the art communications platform in historic Von Essen hotel

Micron Communications has been chosen to install a state of the art Mitel 3300 IP Communications platform into the infamous Cliveden House Hotel, operated by Von Essen Hotels. The site was made famous by the 1960's Profumo Affair which it is widely believed brought down a conservative government and is now a jewel in the Von Essen Crown. This latest contract comes on the back of the successful installation Micron provided for Von Essen hotels at its ground breaking Hotel Verta site in Battersea, London.

"The Cliveden House Hotel is an amazing place and a little piece of our nations history" said Jon Biles, Senior Account Manager at Micron Communications. "Working within such a site does require extra special attention to detail but this is nothing we're not used to".

One such obstacle came from the protected nature of the site and Micron subsequently not being able to use a Category 5e network throughout the site.

"As with Hotel Verta in Battersea, we wanted to use a Mitel 3300 platform with IP handsets at the Cliveden House Hotel as this is a true 5 star solution for a 5 star site" said Mark Parsons, Managing Director of Micron Communications. "Because the nature of the building would not allow us to install category 5e to certain areas, we had to think outside of the box. We are going to use the existing 1308 cable network to create a DSLAM within the site upon which we can then build a thoroughbred Mitel communications platform for the staff and guests".

The installation is due to be completed by the end of August 2011.
