Results delivered?
Micron worked with cabling engineers on site to deliver a seamless installation, to both budget and deadline. A state of the art Mitel telephony platform was used in conjunction with a Telecom Eye multi environment call management solution to deliver telephony across the site.
Micron integrated all of these systems with the Property management system onsite to deliver an integrated voice and data solution befitting of this high profile new development.
As a new addition to the Sanguine Hotels Group, The Cube represents the cutting edge of tomorrow's hospitality complex. Combining stunning guest bedrooms with fully serviced apartments and office buildings, The Cube offers a glimpse into the future, in the heart of Birmingham.
A complex installation into a stunning new property. The installation of a voice and wireless backbone into a hotel of this nature is something Micron has executed many times before. This site however was a little different in that its main hotel functions were above and below a suite of apartments which were not to be incorporated into the main network. This meant that wireless networks in situ for the hotel would need to ‘straddle' the serviced apartments and similarly wireless voice devices would have to find the network when on hotel floors and leave the network when in serviced apartment space.
The key element of this project was to build a solid working partnership from the outset with the cabling engineers to ensure everything was exactly where it needed to be and that the infrastructure for the hotel and its various elements could be kept local to, but separated from those which were for the serviced apartments.
As always, Micron began the installation some weeks before arriving on site by starting the configuration stage at its own premises. Once on site, Micron liaised closely on a daily basis with cabling engineers to ensure that the installation was executed seamlessly and on time.
"We're used to managing complex cabling installations with third parties which meant we were able to engage in this project in a slick and efficient manner" said Ben Marks, IT engineer with Micron. "Its nice to be able to complete jobs like this in an efficient manner as it makes life so much more comfortable for the client, their contractors and ultimately the most important people, the guests".
